Itinerary

Welcome to Israel for your Holy land Tour. You will be met at the Ben Gurian airport, where one of our representatives will be there waiting for you holding a card with your name on it. You can’t miss it. Our company driver will take you to your hotel and make sure you are checked into your hotel and have settled in. You will have every opportunity to freshen up and depending on what your arrival time was you will have time to explore the area around your hotel. Private pickup from Ben Gurion airport. Drop off to a Jerusalem hotel. Overnight in Jerusalem hotel.

We begin our day at the Mount of Olives with a spectacular scenic view of Jerusalem. From here we travel the Byzantine Cardo, a historical road that cuts through the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. On the way, we visit the Wailing Wall (Kotel), what remains of the Second Temple of Jerusalem and sacred to the Jews. The wailing is a description made by the British of the sounds the Jews make when praying. Moving on we take the sacred route where Jesus carried the cross along the Way of Sorrows on his way to be crucified. Remaining on route we arrive at the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre where Jesus was crucified and where will find his Burial tomb. We continue our journey by taking a look at the Bazaars of the Christian and Moslem quarters. Our next destination is Bethlehem. We start off our journey of Bethlehem at the Mount of Olives gazing at ancient Jewish cemetery where many believe that the resurrection of the Messiah will happen. (Zech 14:4). Looking down from here we have an excellent view across the Old City, down to Temple Mount where the Holy Jewish Temple originally existed. The next part of our journey takes us towards the Zion Gate by passing by the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations and the Kidron Valley. Here we can observe the Jewish burial tombs of Absalom, King David’s son, Jehoshaphat and the Hezir family. We arrive at Jerusalem’s Old City on exiting the Zion Gate and continue our journey through the Armenian quarter. Eventually, we arrive at the 1500-year-old excavated Byzantine Cardo, restored and has now become rows of modern shops along this historical road. Our journey continues passing the Jewish quarter towards the Western Wall. This wall is part of the outer wall of the Jewish Temple that once stood erect on Temple Mount almost 2,000 years ago. We take a walk like many pilgrims have done and continue to do each year, stopping at points where Jesus paused on the way carrying his cross to Golgotha (Cavalry). Our final destination is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Jesus was crucified and where his burial tomb is to be. Finally, we take a wander around the traditional Middle eastern markets before our next destination Bethlehem, where Jesus Christ was born. Bethlehem, where Jesus was born, and linked to Jesse, King David’s father. At Manger Square, we set foot into the 4th century Church of the Nativity, the oldest church in Isreal that is still in use today. Here, in this area, we will see below the grotto of the Nativity. A star signifies that Jesus was born here. There is also an altar in remembrance to the three wise men. This location is significant to being where the well-known story of Christmas night takes place. A memorable place to be for all Christians. Due to the departure of the Crusaders the church came under neglect for centuries as well as it suffered damage by earthquake and fire. Today the church has been restored thanks to the British Mandate and lately the Israel authority. Exiting the church we observe the Armenian Chapel of the Kings. From here we can also visit the Crusader church. At the Church of St Catherine we go below where a complex of caves exist. In one of these caves is the Grotto of nativity. This was where Saint Jerome translated the Hebrew Bible into latin named The Vulgate. We take a visit to Shepherd’s field and reflect back to the story where an angel appeared before shepherds with their sheep in this field (Luke 2:8-11). Next a visit to the contemporary Church of the Angels and where we can view panels with stories of Jesus’s childhood days. Returning to Jerusalem we pass by the field of Ruth. Ruth being King David’s great-grandmother who worked in the fields of Boaz. (Ruth 2:1). Remarks: Passports and modest dress compulsory. This tour is subject to Palestinian Authority regulations. The Palestinian guide meets tour only at the border post. Change of vehicle required for transfers of pick up / drop off destinations to save time, avoid traffic and delay. Breakfast in Jerusalem hotel. Pickup from Jerusalem hotel. Full transfer during the group tour. Visit Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Government licensed tour guide in English. Our journey begins passing by Herzliya and Natanya going North with coastal views of the Mediterranean. We then proceed inland bypassing the valley of Armageddon (Revelations 16:6). At this location we see Magiddo. On route towards Nazareth, we have a look at the Mt of Precipitation (Luke 4:28-30). As we enter Nazareth we take a visit to the Church of Annunciation, built on the location where Gabriel the Angel appeared and told Mary she would soon have a son called Jesus. (Luke 1:26) Next to this church is the Church of Saint Joseph. This church was built on the same location where Jesus’s father had his carpentry workshop. Departing from Nazareth we eventually arrive at the Sea of Galilee and pass Cana. At Cana water was turned into wine by Jesus. Approaching Mount of Beatitudes we call into Caperneum on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. This the shore where Jesus walked along the water on calmed water. (Mark 4:35-41). We will visit the place where Peter lived and the church of Multiplication. Passing the city of Tiberius, named after the Roman emperor, we have an inspiring view of the Golam Heights. Proceed to Yardenit, situated on the banks of the Jordan River, flowing forth from the Sea of Galilee, the baptismal site of Yardenit welcomes over half a million tourists and pilgrims annually who come to experience the spirituality and pastoral beauty of the waters of the River Jordan, in which Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. According to the Christian faith, the Jordan River YARDENIT is considered the third most holy site in the Holy Land, just after Nativity Grotto in Bethlehem and Golgotha in Jerusalem, because it is the site of the most important event of Jesus’ life – his baptism and beginning of his ministry. The site offers 12 separate baptismal pools, enabling different groups to comfortably conduct private worship ceremonies. Return transfer to hotel in Tel Aviv after the tour.
