New Observation Deck Opens in West Bank with Airport Views

May 1, 2026

Israel’s Foreign Ministry is investing 3 million shekels to transform an observation point in the West Bank settlement of Peduel into an international advocacy tool. The site, dubbed “the country’s balcony,” will feature interactive content, geographic-security narratives, and panoramic views connecting landscape, borders, and national consciousness.

What makes this location special for visitors? According to the Foreign Ministry, “from here you can clearly see both the sea and Ben Gurion Airport.” The elevated position offers sweeping views across central Israel, making it a unique vantage point to understand the country’s geography and strategic challenges.

The project will include interactive exhibits designed to explain Israel’s geographic and security situation to international visitors. While still in development, this could become an interesting stop for travelers wanting to understand Israel’s complex geography and security considerations from a strategic viewpoint.

For now, the site remains in planning stages, but it represents Israel’s ongoing efforts to create educational tourism experiences that combine stunning views with historical and political context.
