Israel Travel Alert: Road Closures Due to Storm Byron Flooding
Planning to travel around Israel right now? Here’s what you need to know about current road conditions. Storm Byron has brought heavy flooding across the country, causing several major road closures that could affect your travel plans.
Route 90 – one of Israel’s main north-south highways – is completely closed in both directions from Lido Junction all the way down to the Dead Sea area. This is a major route that many travelers use to reach popular destinations like Masada, Ein Gedi, and the Dead Sea hotels.
Route 4370 is also blocked from the Ring Checkpoint to Anatot Circle, which may impact travelers heading to certain areas around Jerusalem.
If you’re currently in Israel or arriving soon, we recommend checking current road conditions before heading out on day trips. Consider alternative routes or postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Your hotel concierge or tour guide can help you plan around these closures.
Stay safe and flexible with your itinerary – Israeli infrastructure teams work quickly to clear roads after storms, so conditions should improve soon.
