Dead Sea Hotels Cut Off: Road 90 Closed Due to Flooding

December 28, 2025

Heads up if you’re planning a Dead Sea getaway! Police have temporarily closed a section of Route 90 between Dragot Junction and the Dead Sea hotel zone due to dangerous road conditions and flooding in the area.

This closure affects access to the popular hotel strip along the Dead Sea’s western shore, where many international visitors stay to experience the famous mineral-rich waters and therapeutic mud treatments. The closure is a safety precaution following severe weather that has made driving conditions hazardous.

If you have reservations at Dead Sea hotels or planned day trips to the area, we recommend checking with your hotel directly for updates on access routes and any shuttle services they might be providing from alternative entry points. The Israeli police will reopen the road once conditions improve and it’s safe for travelers.

This is a temporary closure, but it’s always smart to have flexible plans when traveling during Israel’s rainy season. Consider having backup activities in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv if your Dead Sea plans get delayed.
