American Airlines Delays Israel Return Again Until September
Planning a trip to Israel? Here’s an important update for your flight planning. American Airlines has once again postponed their return to Israel, pushing back their first flight from Tel Aviv to September 11, 2024.
The airline has been extending their suspension since October 2023, previously canceling flights through July before this latest delay. This means travelers from North America still need to rely on other carriers or connecting flights to reach Israel.
While we wait for American Airlines to resume service, there are still plenty of excellent flight options to get you to Israel. Major carriers like El Al, United, Delta, and Lufthansa continue operating regular routes to Ben Gurion Airport. Many travelers find connecting through European hubs like Frankfurt or Amsterdam works well too.
If you’re booking flights for fall 2024 or later, it’s worth keeping an eye on American Airlines’ schedule updates. But for summer travel, we recommend booking with airlines that are currently operating reliable service to Israel. Need help finding the best flight options for your Israel adventure?
